Correct Answer is: MR&AC, CFM = Velocity x Area = 500 fpm x [(10″ x 20″)/(144″)] = 694 CFM (Note: Using the ACCA Ductulator (duct slide rule) align the 20-inch mark with the 10-inch arched line (or vice versa), locate the mark for 500 fpm, and note the approximate 650 CFM.)
A contractor must build a 15,000 square foot educational auditorium. What would be the minimum outdoor ventilation in cubic feet per minute?
Correct Answer is: IMC – Table 403.3.1.1 Auditoriums = 0.06 CFM/Sq-Ft. Calculate: 15,000 sq-ft x 0.06 CFM/sq-ft = 900 CFM
